Job Description:

Solution Architect - SC / DV Cleared
Inside IR35: 550 - 600 p/d
Hybrid: 1-2 days onsite per week

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Solution Architect to lead the definition, design, and delivery of architectural solutions across complex, high-impact portfolios. Working with C-level leaders and senior stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in shaping agile, sustainable, and future-ready architectures that enable transformation at scale.

This role spans the full breadth of enterprise architecture activities—from lightweight governance and operational modelling to transition planning and embedding next-gen technologies. You will act as a trusted advisor across domains, combining strategic acumen with technical delivery, guiding clients through challenges including cloud optimisation, legacy integration, and enterprise agility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise and solution architectures across large-scale portfolios, addressing complex business and technology challenges.
  • Shape pragmatic architectural strategies, operational models, and governance structures that resonate at board level and drive value across the enterprise.
  • Implement and evolve architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, ArchiMate, MODAF, SAFe), blending these with client context to deliver practical outcomes.
  • Deliver architectural assessments, technology roadmaps, transition architectures, and legacy integration plans to support digital and cloud transformation.
  • Champion sustainability, technical debt remediation, and innovation within legacy environments.
  • Engage and align with stakeholders across business, data, application, infrastructure, and security domains to ensure end-to-end coherence and buy-in.
  • Mentor architecture teams and uplift enterprise architecture maturity across client organisations.
  • Articulate architectural trade-offs and commercial implications, including CapEx/OpEx (TOTEX) and sustainability KPIs.
  • Contribute thought leadership in areas such as platform strategy, hybrid cloud, IoT, AI/ML, HPC, and agile architecture delivery.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven leadership in defining and embedding IT strategies and enterprise architecture within complex organisations.
  • Experience resolving enterprise-level architectural challenges across structural, behavioural, data, and commercial dimensions.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills and ability to navigate competing priorities for architectural solutions.
  • Expertise in cloud strategy and delivery (AWS, Azure, GCP), with knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and modern cloud-native patterns.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools (e.g., ArchiMate, TOGAF, Bizzdesign).
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of engaging C-suite stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Experience building service catalogues and enabling digital transformation through holistic architecture alignment.
