Job summary

Unknown Client, a global energy trading organization, seeks a Solution Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of migrating the Altairx ETRM platform to an on-premises Azure environment. You will work with trading, risk and operations stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition.

The role requires hands-on experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms, strong Azure expertise, and capability to manage migration projects in a hybrid on-prem/cloud setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in energy trading environments with ETRM/CTRM platforms.
• Migration experience to on-premises Azure/hybrid environments.
• Strong Azure cloud experience, on-prem/hybrid deployments.
• Python scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with trading, risk and operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Job title – Solution Architect – Energy Trading Platform

Client Location – Central London, UK

Remote work offering – Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Client Industry – Energy / Commodity Trading

Contract Length – 6 months

Contract type – Freelance

Project focus

Our client, a global energy trading organisation, is migrating its Altairx ETRM platform to an on-premises Azure cloud environment. They’re looking for a Solution Architect to lead the technical design and delivery of this migration, working closely with trading, risk and operations stakeholders throughout.

Key skills and Experience required

• Proven Solution Architecture experience in Energy Trading / Commodity Trading environments
• Hands-on experience with Altairx or a similar ETRM/CTRM platform, including migration projects
• Strong Azure cloud experience, particularly on-prem / hybrid Azure deployments
• Solid Python skills for scripting, automation and integration
• Experience working with trading, risk and operations stakeholders in energy/commodities
• Ideally, prior experience with a major energy trading house (e.g. BP, Shell, TotalEnergies, Equinor, Vitol, Trafigura, Mercuria, Gunvor)
• Available to start by 1 October 2026
