We are looking for a Solution Architect to join an established CGI team working on Earth Observation projects and will work across projects with existing clients.
CGI also offers an extensive range of training and on-the-job support to help members to develop their domain expertise.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This role will be hybrid, based in Leatherhead, Reading, Bristol, Leeds or Leicester as a base-office. Some short trips to Europe may be required for customer meetings.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
•Contributing to the developing overall architectures, defining solutions and system architectures
• Designing and delivering high-quality technical solutions
• Participating in programme reviews of projects, assessing design, implementation, qualification and validation
• Reviewing designs, proposed implementations and technologies
• Working with multiple stakeholders: client, 3rd parties & internal, both in business development, bidding and delivery scenarios
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Essential:
• 2-4 years recent experience as a Solutions Architect
• Maths, Physics, Computer Science or similar degree
• Demonstratable ability to take responsibility for a solution and taking into account strategic and tactical aspects
• Experience designing high level architectures using standardized approaches and tools, requirements management and Technical Specifications
• Experience of developing to stringent standards (Space, Defence standards etc)
• Strong planning skills, and ability to manage concurrent activities against external dependencies
Highly Desirable:
• Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience of the space industry or other large science/industry/media data user, in particular experience of working in Earth Observation Payload Data Processing, Operations including the onboarding of satellite missions
• Experience of writing technical proposals
• Self-starter who is looking for a challenge & the opportunity to grow
