About the role
Olive Jar Digital is at the forefront of enabling digital transformation for public sector and enterprise organisations.
We are looking for a highly capable Solution Architect to join us in supporting a key strategic initiative for one of our major clients.
This role will lead the technical discovery and architectural design for an identity and access management project, ensuring a clear understanding of the current environment and shaping the vision for the future state. You will work closely with delivery teams and stakeholders to provide actionable, well-documented technical recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience in designing and documenting complex system architectures, ideally within identity and access management or related security domains.
- Strong knowledge of identity technologies and platforms, including cloud-native solutions such as AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Google Identity, and federated authentication models.
- Ability to map out current-state systems, integrations, and data flows, producing clear and accurate technical documentation.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary teams, translating technical detail into language understood by non-technical stakeholders.
- Skilled in identifying architectural pain points and functional gaps, and in developing solution options that balance technical integrity with business priorities.
- Strong understanding of governance, security considerations, and risk management within system architecture.
- Confident in facilitating technical workshops and discovery sessions, ensuring comprehensive input from relevant technical and business teams.
- Ability to develop future-state architectural models, including phased migration approaches, integration strategies, and interim tactical solutions where needed.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to documenting and presenting findings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing high-quality artefacts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Previous experience working on large-scale discovery phases or technical transformation programmes.
- Familiarity with government or public sector technical standards, including the Technology Code of Practice (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of architecture tooling, such as Ardoq or similar platforms, for creating and managing architecture artefacts.
- Exposure to DevOps, SaaS environments, and cloud-native service management within AWS and Azure ecosystems.
- Awareness of service design and user-centred approaches in technical solution development.
