Lead Solution Architect

We are looking for a Lead Solution Architect who can provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to engineering teams and other solution architects on architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the solution architecture of complex solutions for products that deliver customer value and meet our quality, resilience, financial and technical objectives.
2. Establish and maintain a solution architecture forward look within the QBR planning horizon to inform the product roadmaps. Considering currency and technical debt and key outcomes and epics, work ahead to shape the technical activities needed that allow teams to deliver and meet our architecture roadmaps in support of the product vision.
3. Analyse complex options and implementation alternatives to propose solutions and create innovative designs using relevant architectural building blocks delivering modernised architectures.
4. Provide technical leadership, direction and guidance to engineering teams and other solution architects on architectural solutions.
5. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance solution capabilities.
6. Ensure solutions are resilient, secure, and scalable, meeting key non-functional requirements which align with enterprise architecture and our technology strategy.
7. Provide solution oversight and conduct solution reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
8. Manage and mitigate risks associated with solution architecture, driving resolution through architectural or agile practices.
9. Maintain and enhance technical skills sufficiently to provide technical oversight and direction and stay current with technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

1. Strong hands-on experience of object-oriented and functional programming with (Java, Scala, Python).
2. Strong knowledge of data formats like JSON, Avro, Parquet, Protobuf.
3. Strong experience of information architecture.
4. Strong knowledge of data modelling and meta modelling.
5. Strong knowledge of and experience with relational and no-SQL databases.
6. Experience with big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Spark).
7. Deep understanding of data warehousing and in-depth knowledge of data compliance standards.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to advocate technical solutions for a variety of audiences.

It would be great if the candidate had:

1. Experience in the Banking & Finance industry.
2. GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
3. Experience in event-driven architecture.
4. Broad knowledge of Machine Learning concepts.
