eFinancialCareers in London is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a major digital transformation programme delivering critical technology services within the UK public sector.

Active SC required. You will design and maintain solution architectures across a portfolio of digital products and services, translating business and technical requirements into deliverable designs, and producing artefacts covering application, integration, infrastructure and data architecture.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in large, complex digital delivery programmes.
• Experience delivering architecture within policing, public safety or other security‑sensitive government environments.
• Strong application and solution architecture experience across multiple products and technology domains.
• Experience designing modern cloud-based solutions using APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of architecture, infrastructure and software engineering principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Design and maintain solution architectures across a portfolio of digital products and services.
• Translate business and technical requirements into practical, deliverable solution designs.
• Produce architecture artefacts covering application, integration, infrastructure and data architecture.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions are technically achievable and support modern software delivery practices.
• Provide architectural guidance throughout the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery through to live service.
• Design cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on security, resilience, scalability and operational support.
• Support API-led integration, event-driven architectures and modern application design approaches.
• Help define non-functional requirements including performance, availability, maintainability and security.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and architectural challenges, working with delivery teams to develop effective solutions.
• Contribute to architecture governance while promoting pragmatic, delivery-focused decision making.
• Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and technical specialists to establish reusable standards, patterns and best practices.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working as a Solution Architect within large, complex digital delivery programmes.
• Experience delivering architecture within policing, law enforcement, public safety or other security-sensitive government environments.
• Strong application and solution architecture experience across multiple products and technology domains.
• Experience designing modern cloud-based solutions using APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, infrastructure and software engineering principles.
• Experience working alongside software engineers, DevOps teams and technical delivery teams.
• Ability to balance strategic architecture with the practical realities of delivery.
• Experience defining and assuring non-functional requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Desirable Experience Strong knowledge of AWS architecture and cloud-native services.
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with containerisation, orchestration technologies and cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of API management, integration architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience using architecture modelling tools and maintaining architecture repositories
