Job summary

VIQU IT Recruitment is seeking a Lead Solution Architect (Infrastructure) in London for a large-scale technology modernisation programme. You will shape and deliver enterprise infrastructure transformations, drive cloud adoption, automation and security-first architecture practices in a Strategy & Architecture function.

The role requires strong experience across infrastructure modernisation, enterprise IAM/Zero Trust, and governance, with the ability to lead workshops and craft target state

Qualifications

• Experience as a Solution Architect in large enterprise environments.
• Experience delivering infrastructure modernisation and transformation programmes.
• Ability to translate business, operational, security and technical requirements into scalable solutions.
• Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
• Knowledge of cloud and on‑premises hybrid architectures.
• Familiarity with governance, risk and design assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture from discovery and design through to implementation and migration.
• Produce High-Level Designs, Solution Designs and architecture roadmaps.
• Lead architecture workshops across infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, identity and platform teams.
• Evaluate solution options based on cost, risk, feasibility and strategic alignment.

Solution Architect (Infrastructure)

London Hybrid Security Cleared

Lead Solution Architect (Infrastructure) required for a globally recognised organisation based in London to support a large-scale technology modernisation and infrastructure transformation programme.

This Solution Architect will join a well-established Technology Strategy & Architecture function, responsible for shaping and delivering enterprise-wide infrastructure modernisation initiatives. .

This is an exciting opportunity to lead architecture across complex transformation programmes, influencing technology direction and driving the adoption of modern platforms, cloud technologies, automation, and security-first architecture practices.

Key Duties and Experience for the Solution Architect to include:

• Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
• Significant experience working as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or Technology Architect within large enterprise environments.
• Strong experience delivering infrastructure modernisation and transformation programmes.
• Experience developing current, transition, and target-state architectures.
• Produce High-Level Designs, Solution Designs, Architecture Roadmaps, and Target State Architectures.
• Proven ability to lead architecture from discovery and design through to implementation and migration.
• Translate business, operational, security, and technical requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance, design assurance, technical risk management, and solution evaluation.
• Lead technical design workshops across infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, identity, and platform teams.
• Evaluate solution options and provide recommendations based on cost, complexity, risk, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions are secure, supportable, scalable, and aligned with long-term strategic objectives.
• TOGAF or other recognised Architecture certifications desirable
• Any experience within Financial Services, Government, Defence, Regulatory, or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments beneficial
• Experience with Zero Trust security frameworks useful

Solution Architecture experience in some or all of the following areas:

• Microsoft Azure and Hybrid Cloud environments - Cloud-Native Platforms and Platform Engineering
• Enterprise Infrastructure Architecture, Networking, and Connectivity.
• Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Security principles.
• Compute, Virtualisation, Storage, Backup, and Platform Services.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Automation, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices.
• Cyber Security Architecture and Operational Resilience.
