Job summary

Ilegroup is seeking a skilled Design Engineer in Leicester to create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using Solidworks. You will work within the Engineering team in Leicester, collaborating with shop floor personnel to ensure designs are understood and manufacturable.

The role emphasizes strong Solidworks skills, communication, and the ability to read technical drawings. Travel for UK site surveys may be required, with a full-time, five-day work week at the Leicester Office.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer who is proficient in Solidworks to join our team in Leicester. Sitting within the heart of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for producing 3d CAD models and 2d manufacture drawings.

Key Responsiblities:

• 3d Cad Modelling: Creation of 3d models using Solidworks.


• 2d Technical Drawings: Production of 2d manufacturing drawings.


• Shop Floor Liaison: Discuss projects and designs with our shop floor to ensure designs are fully understood and to facilitate smooth manufacture.

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate who combines technical aptitude with fantastic Solidworks skills and great communication. Previous experience within the Lift Industry is not required but would be advantageous.

• Experience: A number of years Solidworks experience so that you can get straight into design work.


• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.


• Communication: Must be able to translate complex technical information for clients, site teams, and stakeholders.


• Software Proficiency: Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of software and Microsoft Teams would be advantageous.


• Travel: Some travel for site surveys may be required. This is always within the U.K. and is normally within a single working day.
