Job summary

DWF Law LLP in Manchester seeks a Solicitor to advise on property damage recovery claims within the Commercial Insurance team. The role is based at our Manchester office on a hybrid-working model, mixing home and office time.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of subrogated property damage recovery claims and contribute to larger loss matters, while building strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience handling or assisting with an insurance property related caseload.
  • Technical expertise and a strong interest in commercial insurance matters.
  • Proven track record delivering results within deadlines.

Why join us?

DWF are expanding our Commercial Insurance team and we are seeking a Solicitor to advise in the field of property damage recovery claims.

The Commercial Insurance team in Manchester are instructed by our insurer clients to pursue subrogated property damage recovery claims, working to recover insurers’ outlay where damage has been caused to their customer’s property, be it commercial or domestic premises.

This role is based out of our Manchester office on a hybrid-working model where our colleagues enjoy a mix of home and office working.

Responsibilities
  • To manage your own caseload of property damage recovery claims, and also assist as a part of a wider team on various large loss matters.
  • Understand client requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice.
  • Analyse risk and further develop sound judgement enabling the justification of decisions to clients internally and externally.
  • Prioritise work effectively and to maximise efficiency in working practices.
  • Build working relationships internally and externally in order to develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the Firm’s direction and client needs.
  • To provide support and act as the 'go to person' for more junior members in the team.

Essential

  • A proven track record of delivering results within strict deadlines and timeframes.
  • The ability to communicate and manage often complex issues for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self-motivated individual who can also effectively coach and develop others within the team.
Desirable
  • Previous supervisory experience.
