About your new role

The Regulatory Department is one of the largest in the country and is recognized by clients and other lawyers as one of the best. We advise clients across sectors including health, public sector, corporations, and individuals.

An exciting opportunity to join our expanding healthcare regulatory team, undertaking investigations and key tasks for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You will work under the supervision of a partner or solicitor and supervise paralegals within the team.

The team is at the forefront of developing our practice areas, expanding our expertise to new clients and professional regulators.

The healthcare sector is fast-moving, and working for our clients offers very interesting work. The successful candidates will be highly motivated to develop their own and the team's practices. The role includes:

  1. Case management and progression under supervision.
  2. Supervision and management of paralegals.
  3. Reviewing evidence.
  4. Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements.
  5. Corresponding with witnesses, experts, counsel, and stakeholders.
  6. Supporting stakeholders, including vulnerable witnesses.
  7. Drafting court documents.
  8. Drafting legal advice on evidence and case status.

About You

You will have previous experience and a genuine interest in this area of work. You should also have/be:

  • 2+ years PQE
  • Experience in healthcare or healthcare regulatory fields
  • A proactive approach and team player
  • Good communication skills and a person-centered approach
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior colleagues
  • Ability to meet KPIs, deadlines, and chargeable hours targets
  • Excellent IT and administrative skills
  • Strong written and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • A positive attitude and responsiveness to client and stakeholder needs
