Job description

Undertaking legal advice and support to clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions (both for access to property and in relation to anti-social behaviour), traveller encampments, and regulatory prosecutions. The role involves conducting legal proceedings and appearing on behalf of the Council in court.

Providing advice and assistance to clients on education matters, particularly challenges to decisions regarding SEND and EHC Assessments.

Supporting junior colleagues and legal assistants within the department. This role may also suit a junior officer seeking to develop their knowledge and skills in these areas, with responsibilities including providing assistance and support to senior officers and working closely with them.

There may also be opportunities to develop skills in Court of Protection work related to adults' social care.
