About your new role

Our national Real Estate team provides comprehensive legal and advisory services on all aspects of commercial property for both public and private sector clients. We advise on and draft documents such as heads of terms, development agreements, and related matters including construction, planning, site disposal, funding arrangements, freehold transfers, and due diligence procedures. Our clients include major retailers, leisure operators, regional developers, local authorities, universities, and social housing providers. We have worked on projects ranging from £100 million city centre regeneration schemes to smaller bespoke ventures. Our services also encompass managing large property portfolios for occupiers, investors, and utility providers, as well as supporting our corporate and banking teams with real estate matters like LTA 1954 renewals, easements, covenants, service charges, and land registration.

We are currently recruiting for a Real Estate Newly Qualified Lawyer to join our team.
Main duties and responsibilities
  1. Manage your own caseload of Real Estate cases.
  2. Support other team members as needed.
  3. Draft and prepare various real estate documents.
  4. Liaise with internal and external parties.
  5. Ensure all work produced meets high standards.
  6. Manage your time effectively.
  7. Complete MI procedures as required.
  8. Achieve set financial and chargeable targets.
  9. Adhere to deadlines, quality measures, and KPIs.
  10. Follow relevant policies and procedures.
  11. Work in line with Weightmans’ values.

This list is not exhaustive; you may be asked to perform other duties within the wider scope of the role.

About You

Given the varied nature of the role, we seek candidates with a flexible approach and adaptability to different tasks and clients. You should also have:

  • Experience of and keen interest in real estate work.
  • 0-1 years PQE experience.
  • Familiarity with landlord and tenant issues and property management; experience in development work is a plus.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Strong academic and technical knowledge.
  • Excellent IT and typing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and targets.
