Job summary

An international law firm based in London is seeking an Associate to join their Professional Indemnity team, advising insurers and professionals on complex professional negligence claims.

The role involves defending claims against solicitors, accountants, IFAs and surveyors, with exposure to construction disputes; you will draft pleadings, advise on coverage, and support mediation and adjudication, while building relationships with insurer clients.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ PQE in professional indemnity or a related field.
• Strong background in professional indemnity law.
• Excellent academics and analytical ability.
• Technically excellent with a collaborative approach.
• Flexible and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Defend professional negligence claims for insurers and professionals.
• Manage litigated matters in court including Sheriff Court and Court of Session.

The Role:

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded Professional Indemnity team, advising leading UK insurers and professionals on complex and high-value professional negligence claims.

The role will involve defending claims against solicitors, accountants, IFAs and surveyors, with particular exposure to construction claims involving architects, engineers and contractors. The successful candidate will manage litigated matters in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, advise on insurance coverage, draft pleadings and legal advice, support mediation and adjudication, and develop relationships with insurer and professional clients.
