Job summary

Trethowans in Southampton is seeking a Solicitor with 2-3 years' PQE to join our Private Client team specialising in Wills, Trusts & Probate. You'll handle a mixed caseload and support senior lawyers on more complex matters.

You'll advise on wills, probate, estate administration, trusts and estate planning, build lasting relationships with clients and professionals, and contribute to business development within a supportive, ambitious firm offering flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years' PQE in Private Client law.
• Experience advising on wills, probate, trusts and estate administration matters.
• Demonstrates excellent technical and client relationship skills.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a talented and motivated Solicitor with 2-3 years' PQE to join our thriving Private Client team in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and ambitious firm, working alongside experienced colleagues on a broad range of high-quality private client matters.

The Role

You'll work with a broad range of clients, managing your own caseload and supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters. The role will involve advising on:

• Wills and succession planning
• Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Estate administration and probate
• Trust creation and administration
• Inheritance Tax and estate planning
• Lifetime gifting and wealth preservation strategies

You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients and professional contacts, whilst contributing to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the team.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified Solicitor with 2-3 years' PQE in Private Client law
• Has experience advising on wills, probate, trusts and estate administration matters
• Has excellent technical and client relationship skills
• Is confident managing a varied caseload with appropriate supervision
• Takes a proactive and commercial approach to client service
• Enjoys working collaboratively within a high-performing team
• Has a genuine commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience

A STEP qualification, or an interest in working towards one, would be advantageous but is not essential.
