Role Overview

As a lawyer specializing in contentious matters, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Handling claims, regulatory issues, professional liability claims, litigation, mediation, and risk management projects.
  2. Collaborating with the legal team to provide pragmatic, solution-focused advice to stakeholders, including partners and senior staff.
  3. Managing external solicitors, counsel, and experts in dispute resolution concerning professional services.

This position may suit a junior or mid-level litigator from a commercial law firm, but applications from all qualified candidates demonstrating the necessary skills are welcome.

The minimum criteria for this role include:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial experience in commercial dispute resolution in England, Wales, or a similar jurisdiction.
  • Good knowledge of law and procedures related to professional liability, especially concerning professional advisers.

Additional desirable skills include understanding risk-management issues faced by professional service firms, pragmatic and commercial approach, strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously and in teams, and relationship-building capabilities.
