We’re open to flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, to support work-life balance.

Role Overview

As a lawyer specializing in contentious work within our in-house legal team, you will:

  1. Handle claims, regulatory issues, professional liability claims, litigation, mediation, and risk-management issues.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams to provide pragmatic advice to stakeholders, including partners and senior staff.
  3. Manage external solicitors, counsel, and experts in disputes related to professional services.

This role may suit a junior or mid-level litigator from a commercial law background, but all qualified candidates with relevant skills are encouraged to apply.

Candidate Criteria

The minimum requirements are:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial experience in commercial dispute resolution in England and Wales or a similar jurisdiction.
  • Good knowledge of law and procedure related to professional liability, especially concerning professional advisers.

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Understanding of risk-management issues faced by professional service firms.
  • Pragmatic, commercial mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage conflicting demands.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Relationship-building skills to gain colleagues' confidence.
