Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

As the leading clinical and medical negligence law firm in the UK, we know how to make a positive difference to our client’s lives. Our experienced medical negligence solicitors take the time to understand what clients are going through, helping them get the answers and compensation they deserve. Our clinical negligence team has extensive experience in claims arising from obstetric, neonatal, anaesthetic, neurosurgical, cardiac, and psychiatric care.

Our solicitors have years of experience handling a variety of medical negligence cases including but not limited to:

  • Accident & Emergency claims
  • Cancer claims
  • Cerebral Palsy claims
  • GP negligence claims
  • Spinal cord injury claims

Your Role

From day one, you’ll have your own caseload. As a team, we are dedicated to improving our client’s quality of life.

You’ll join Senior Associate, Sarah Sharples, and her team who has a wealth of expertise in complex and high-value cases acting for clients in claims including Birth Injury Claims, Spinal Injury Claims, Fatal Claims & Inquests, and Misdiagnosis. Sarah is passionate about achieving access to justice for anyone injured through medical negligence and delivering exceptional client care.

You’ll have a track record of proactively managing your own diverse caseload whilst assisting other senior fee earners with high-value, complex cases. You’ll be able to identify other legal solutions that may add value to your client’s journey.

About You
  • Be 2-4 years PQE, with experience in handling Medical Negligence claims (essential)
  • Be highly organized with the ability to track and manage your workload independently while keeping clients updated
  • Be committed to delivering exceptional client service with an approachable, empathetic, and caring manner to build rapport with clients and their families
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to support claims
  • Feel comfortable providing expert legal advice to clients, ensuring they are fully informed throughout the process
  • Draft legal documents including funding paperwork, court applications, witness statements, instructions to counsel and experts
  • Be confident with advocacy and able to represent clients in court and at mediation sessions
  • Work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff to achieve the best outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant case law
  • Have commercial awareness and knowledge of the Northwest market
  • Have an interest in business development, with examples of past contributions and regional market knowledge
  • Be able to work both collaboratively and independently
