Job summary

Nottingham City Council is offering a rare Solicitor (Commercial Property & Conveyancing) role in Nottingham. You will join a busy conveyancing and commercial property team, handling a varied caseload and delivering high quality legal services to the city and its communities.

The role focuses on residential conveyancing, commercial property matters, development and regeneration projects, with opportunities to supervise junior colleagues and contribute to team development.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
• Experience in residential conveyancing.
• Experience across commercial property matters, including leases and acquisitions.
• Ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
• Understanding of local government or public sector context.
• English language fluency is essential.

Salary: Starting Salary is £40,777 (Level one) rising to £44,075 incrementally pro rata for part-time’ - Pay award pending.

You will join our busy and collaborative conveyancing and commercial property team, manage a varied caseload and work closely with colleagues across the Council.

You’ll also play a key role in supporting and supervising junior colleagues, contributing to the development of the team.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• Experience in residential conveyancing
• Experience across commercial property matters, including leases and acquisitions
• Ability to manage complex legal matters independently
• understanding of local government or public sector context (or transferable experience)
• This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
