Are you a qualified solicitor with a passion for housing law and a drive to deliver high-quality legal services? Join Torus as a
Solicitor - Housing Management and help us deliver an effective, responsive, and value-for-money legal service across our Group.
In this rewarding and impactful role, you’ll manage a broad caseload of housing management matters including anti-social
behaviour, disrepair, and possession.
You'll also play a key leadership role in supervising two junior team members and helping to shape the delivery of legal services.
This role is based in Liverpool with travel to our St Helens and Warrington offices. Agile working is available.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Manage a caseload of housing management matters including injunctions (nuisance and compliance), possession, succession,
trespass, and disrepair.
* Provide clear, up-to-date legal advice to internal departments and represent Torus at court and tribunal hearings where
required.
* Draft pleadings, witness statements, interlocutory applications, and other legal documents.
* Support the Group Head of Legal Services in delivering the department’s objectives and corporate goals.
* Supervise and support two junior solicitors and a disrepair caseworker.
* Deliver legal training to staff to enhance legal awareness and promote efficiency.
* Stay updated with changes in relevant legislation, guidance, and company policies.
* Collaborate across teams to ensure a seamless, customer-focused service.
* Work proactively with external solicitors and counsel where needed.
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree level education or equivalent relevant training/experience.
* Professional legal qualification as recognised by the SRA or equivalent body.
* Significant experience of housing management cases.
