Job summary

Catering seeks a Solicitor to join the Legal Department on a temporary basis. The role is hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the Northampton office, initial 2-3 month contract.

You will advise senior leaders, support frontline services, ensure governance and compliance across a complex regulatory landscape, and provide pragmatic legal guidance to enable patient care and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with significant post-qualification experience
• Degree-level education or higher; current practising certificate
• Experience across charity, probate, property, conveyancing, employment, tribunals, and contract law

Responsibilities

• Advise on legal risks and regulatory compliance across the organisation
• Support front line services and governance/ compliance frameworks
• Balance risk with pragmatic advice to enable patient care and service delivery
• Draft and review contracts, policies and legal instruments
• Manage a broad portfolio of contentious and non-contentious matters
• Conduct legal research to support decision-making

Job description

Our client is looking for a Solicitor to join their Legal Department on a temporary basis for an initial period of 2-3 months. This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days per week working from the office.

This is a rare opportunity to apply your legal expertise in a role with real social impact – advising senior leaders, supporting front line services, and ensuring robust governance and compliance across a complex regulatory landscape.

You will provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice and support across the business to meet legal obligations, including compliance with legislation and sector best practice. Working closely with the Senior Solicitor and wider Legal team, you will manage a broad portfolio of contentious and non-contentious matters, balancing legal risk with practical, solutions-focused advice that enables excellent patient care and service delivery.

The right candidate will be UK Government-approved person enable to certify copy documents with authorised signatory for contracts, deeds and other legal instruments.

Experience and skills required:

• Good understanding of property law, healthcare law and regulation, including NHS frameworks and care standards would be advantageous
• A broad understanding of English law affecting charities and healthcare providers
• Experience of advising on commercial property matters and patient data including drafting of documents
• Experience of managing a contract management database
• Commercial acumen with a focus on the need to give pragmatic advice
• Strong drafting skills with attention to detail
• Prior in house experience is an advantage.
• Able to undertake legal researchQualifications:

Salary: £50000 – £59000/annum FTE
