Qualifications

Harkaye Core Talent is partnering with a respected national law firm offering expert support and strategic legal representation in SEND cases. You’ll join a mission-led team that works across:

  • EHC Plan assessments, appeals & annual reviews
  • Judicial review proceedings and disability-discrimination claims
  • School admission/exclusion appeals, transport issues, and statutory funding challenges

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing a varied SEND caseload: tribunal and judicial review work, EHC assessments, discrimination claims
  • Preparing cases: drafting pleadings, evidence bundles, expert instructions
  • Representing families at tribunal hearings, mediations, internal reviews
  • Advising clients (families, parents, young people) on legal options and rights
  • Liaising with schools, local authorities, advocates, and health professionals to deliver comprehensive representation

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE, ideally with SEND/education law experience
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice, EHC Plans, CPR, tribunal procedures
  • Excellent advocacy, drafting, and interpersonal skills—especially with vulnerable clients
  • Proactive, resilient, and creative—able to challenge established practices while maintaining firm relationships
