Are you an experienced lawyer with a passion for contract law and public service? West Berkshire Council's Legal and Democratic Service is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lawyer (Contracts) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and support, to a range of stakeholders, on Contract matters.

About The Role

As a Contracts Lawyer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice and support on a wide range of contract and procurement matters
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements
  • Advising on compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure effective contract management

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • UK qualified solicitor or barrister, with a valid practising certificate, or chartered legal executive
  • Extensive experience in contract and procurement law
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to provide clear and pragmatic legal advice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Team player with a positive and collaborative approach
