An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Associate to join a leading Construction Insurance team in Bristol. The team is part of a top-ranked insurance practice, advising the majority of professional indemnity insurers and their insureds across a wide range of high-value, complex claims.

Summary

Job title: Associate – Construction (Professional Indemnity)

Location: Bristol

Salary: Up to £80,000 DoE

Reports to: Partners, Construction Insurance

Experience: 1PQE + in construction litigation or Professional Indemnity

The Role

The successful candidate will defend liability claims against construction professionals including architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors, acting for both insurers and insureds. The work spans litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and risk management advisory.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of professional indemnity claims involving construction professionals
  • Advising on coverage issues and policy interpretation
  • Representing clients in pre-action, court proceedings, and ADR forums

About You

  • At least 1 years’ PQE with a strong grounding in construction litigation or within professional negligence
  • Experience in insurance law is desirable but not essential
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Commercially aware with a focus on financial efficiency and client service
