Job summary

DAC Beachcroft LLP in Belfast is seeking a qualified Solicitor to join our Complex Injury Team. You will assist on high-value Catastrophic injury and EL/PL claims, developing case strategies and ensuring compliance with firm protocols.

The role offers a chance to work with senior fee earners and Partners on multi-million-pound claims. You will engage with clients, manage timelines, and contribute to business development while building expertise in a leading national team.

Qualifications

• Experience working on Personal Injury, EL/PL or Catastrophic and Complex Injury claims.
• Strong compliance with firm protocols and procedures.
• Solid legal knowledge in the relevant area of law.
• Ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues.
• Confident negotiation skills.
• Team oriented with willingness to share knowledge and support others.
• Excellent relationship and client handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior fee earners on complex and higher value cases and Partners on multi-million-pound claims.
• Devising a clear case strategy aligned with client and firm interests.
• Ensure work meets client, firm, and quality standards (SLAs, KPIs, protocols).
• Assist with billing targets and timely WIP/disbursement collection.
• Provide MI in a prompt and accurate manner.
• Apply current legal knowledge and case law to cases.
• Escalate emerging problems to supervisor promptly.
• Engage with clients to build rapport and act as an ambassador for the firm.
• Contribute to business development and client relationship activity when required.
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training and reading publications.

We are delighted to be able to invite applications from qualified lawyers and Experienced Paralegals wanting to join our expanding Catastrophic and Complex Injury Team in Belfast.

Our National team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, provide effective claims solutions for cases of the utmost severity and complexity, be they traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, amputation or high value fatal accident claims, allowing our lawyers to build strategic partnerships. Whether the instruction is for pre-emptive advice/investigations or upon litigation our aim to provide a clear strategy from the outset. Our national industry leading team led by Liz Jones is made up of 30 partners and 81 lawyers spread across the United Kingdom. This role will provide a fantastic opportunity to develop both your skill set and careers alongside experts in this area.

What you will do?

• Assist senior fee earners on complex and higher value cases and Partners on multi-million-pound claims
• Devising a clear case strategy which is adhered to, ensuring cases are run smoothly and balance the commercial interests of both the Firm and the client
• Ensure work is carried out effectively to meet the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the quality standards to include:
  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
  • Achievement of agreed financial targets
  • Prompt billing and collection of WIP and disbursements
  • Prompt and accurate provision of MI
  • Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law
  • Effectively managing risk and compliance issues within each case, ensuring any emerging problems are escalated promptly to your supervisor in the first instance
  • Engaging with clients where appropriate to maximise opportunities to meet and build rapport with clients, at all times acting as an ambassador of the firm
  • Contribute to Business Development and client relationship activity in support of the Client Relationship Partner where required
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications

Who you are

• Previous experience of working or assisting on either Personal Injury, EL/PL or Catastrophic and Complex Injury claims, or a keen interest in this area of law
• A high level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
• Good legal knowledge relevant to their area of expertise
• An ability to adopt a commercial perspective to legal issues.
• Confident negotiation skills
• The ability to be team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team
• Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day activities
