Job Description:

This West End law firm sits at the cutting edge of entertainment, technology, and media, and they’re growing. With a client base that includes global entertainment brands, elite athletes, and household names in music and film, they’re now looking to hire a Commercial Solicitor to join their thriving team and it couldn't be a better opportunity for someone looking for an interesting and long term position; for the right person this would be a career changing opportunity.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a well-balanced team that already boasts top talent across commercial, IP, and media law.

The team handles work for some of the biggest names in entertainment, media and sports and they are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who can handle sophisticated commercial agreements and help support the growing demand across entertainment and media clients.

You’ll be working closely with two highly regarded partners on complex, often cross-border commercial work that spans entertainment, licensing, technology, and media. The team has a lot of very high quality work running through the department, and that’s exactly why they’re hiring.

This is a career-building opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running and free up senior time for business development and client growth.

In this role you'll benefit from:

  • An enviable client base: From major film studios to internationally recognised content creators, the firm acts for some of the most well known names across entertainment and media.
  • Collaborative culture: You’ll be joining a collegiate team where everyone mucks in and egos are left at the door. The personalities in the team and across the firm make it a really enjoyable place to be.
  • Defined progression: The team is structured very specifically to benefit clients and to allow for everyone's internal progression, they’re keen to bring in someone who can grow into a key mid-level position.
  • Flexible background requirements: While private practice training is ideal, they are open to candidates with strong in-house experience who bring solid commercial instincts.

You’ll handle a broad range of commercial matters, such as:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements across tech, entertainment, and licensing.
  • Advising on soft IP issues (copyright and design rights – no trademark focus).
  • Supporting brand and content-driven businesses on strategic commercial contracts.
  • Collaborating across teams to support overlapping client interests.
  • Supporting senior lawyers on client development initiatives and helping strengthen key accounts.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2–4 years’ PQE in a strong commercial or IP practice (will consider exceptional 1 PQE candidates).
  • Solid grounding in commercial contracts with exposure to media, tech, or IP-related matters.
  • A genuine interest in entertainment and media – whether music, TV, digital platforms, or tech.
  • Strong technical training and a personable, team-first approach.
  • Licensing experience and IP knowledge would be highly valued.

Salary & Progression

The firm offers a competitive salary package dependent on experience. Progression prospects are clear and genuine; the firm prides itself on supporting career development from within.
