Responsibilities
  • Handle a varied and interesting workload with an appropriate level of supervision.
  • Act as a lead point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
  • Communicate effectively with a broad range of people including clients, courts and other stakeholders.
  • Support marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending marketing events and client training.
  • Build an awareness of the Firm's other services and development of effective internal and external networks.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols.
  • Exercise full compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols on billing and credit control and demonstrate a high level of financial management in respect of own files.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A qualified solicitor or barrister with previous experience in this practice area or related practice area.
  • Experience of advising clients on Court of Protection matters and the relevant legal frameworks governing care and treatment is essential.
  • We do not expect candidates to cover the full breadth of work undertaken by the team but we do require a clear interest in this area and enthusiasm to develop skills and knowledge relevant to the work we do.
  • Advocacy experience is an advantage (but not essential as training can be provided in this area).
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day issues.
  • Highly motivated, sharing our commitment to providing excellent service to our clients across a range of complex legal issues.
  • An ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an 'academic' approach to legal issues.
  • Team oriented with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
