Qualifications

• Must hold a full practising certificate if applying as a Barrister.

Description

The Advocate will provide advocacy, advisory, and drafting services to Keoghs LLP. Full training will be provided by senior lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Undertake advocacy, drafting, and advisory work, including pleadings, interlocutory hearings, small claims, fast track trials, sanctions, and recoveries.
2. Assist senior team members in delivering these services.
3. Deliver advocacy and litigation training for fee earners.
4. Supervise and mentor Band One Advocates.
5. Engage in client-facing and product development tasks.
6. Contribute to the development of the in-house advocacy team.

Working Hours:

35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. The primary location is Liverpool, with potential travel to Manchester and Bolton.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

1. Full practising certificate (if Barrister).
2. Enthusiasm for developing an advocacy career.
3. Experience in insurance fraud, general PI, EL/PL, or professional negligence is advantageous.
4. Qualified Solicitor or equivalent.
5. Excellent written communication skills for concise reports.
6. Tenacious and self-motivated attitude.
