Looking for an Employment role where you can work on sophisticated matters, build strong client relationships and be part of a team with genuine growth ambitions?

A leading UK law firm is looking to strengthen its Cheltenham Employment team with an experienced Solicitor at around 5+ PQE. There is flexibility around PQE for the right person.

This is a high-quality, internationally focused practice advising a diverse client base across the UK and overseas, with a strong mix of contentious and non-contentious work.

The work

You'll advise a broad range of clients, including businesses, senior executives and entrepreneurs, across matters such as:

• Employment Tribunal litigation and complex employment disputes
• Strategic HR and day-to-day employment advice
• Senior executive exits and settlement agreements
• Restrictive covenants and confidentiality issues
• Workplace investigations, disciplinaries and grievances
• TUPE and transactional employment support
• Employment status and consultancy arrangements
• Employment contracts, policies and broader HR matters
• International and cross-border employment issues

The team works closely with colleagues across the wider firm, giving you the opportunity to get involved in multi-disciplinary and internationally focused matters rather than operating in an employment silo.

The team

You'll be joining an established and growing Employment team led by a highly regarded Partner with a strong international focus and a clear interest in developing the firm's international offering.

The wider team includes experienced senior lawyers, a dedicated Employment Knowledge Lawyer and a solicitor qualifying into the team.

There has also been a recent senior hire from another leading UK firm who has settled into the team extremely well, bringing valuable experience and client relationships.

The result is a team with a strong mix of experience, support and ambition, while still giving experienced associates the opportunity to take ownership of their work.

Who they're looking for

The ideal candidate will be an Employment Solicitor at around 5+ PQE, although the team is open to considering strong candidates outside this level.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong experience across contentious and/or non-contentious employment
• Experience handling Employment Tribunal matters
• Confidence advising clients directly and managing your own caseload
• Strong technical, drafting and communication skills
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to client advice
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team
• An interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development
