Job summary

MPJ Recruitment is partnering with a respected Liverpool litigation practice to recruit a Solicitor for their Housing Disrepair team. You will manage your own caseload from inception to settlement in a busy, supportive environment that prioritises client care and progression.

The role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary between £45,000 and £50,000 (DOE), and a comprehensive benefits package with ongoing training and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor status
• Housing Disrepair experience
• Independent management of litigated matters
• Strong knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act and civil procedure
• Experience in high-volume litigation environment
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Ability to bill at Grade B level or above

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of Housing Disrepair files from instruction through to conclusion.
• Handle matters under the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims.
• Draft Letters of Claim and other legal documentation.
• Review tenancy and housing records to assess liability.
• Consider surveyors' reports and evidence.
• Negotiate settlements and attend mediations when required.
• Issue and progress court proceedings.
• Liaise with Counsel, experts, clients, and third parties.
• Work within a case management system to progress files efficiently.
• Deliver excellent client care throughout the litigation process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor looking to join a well-established, growing firm with a strong reputation in claimant litigation, excellent quality work, and genuine opportunities for long-term career progression. You'll manage your own caseload of Housing Disrepair matters from inception through to settlement, working within a supportive environment that values performance, development, and client care.

The Opportunity

Joining a busy and successful department, you'll handle a varied caseload of pre and post-litigated Housing Disrepair claims, acting on behalf of tenants and ensuring claims are progressed efficiently and effectively. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing your own caseload of Housing Disrepair files from instruction through to conclusion

About You

We're keen to speak with qualified Solicitors who possess:

• Qualified Solicitor status
• Previous Housing Disrepair experience
• Alternatively, substantial contentious civil litigation experience with a desire to specialise in Housing Disrepair
• Experience managing litigated matters independently
• Strong knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act and relevant civil procedure
• Experience working within a high-volume litigation environment
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectivelyAbility to bill work at Grade B level or above
