Overview

Soldering / IPC Technicians — Guildford — 30-35K

Soldering / IPC Technicians Urgently required for a specialist organisation based near Guildford. We are looking for skilled Operatives who hold IPC Certifications or are used to working to IPC standards as you will be working on high profile complex electronics that are required to be the highest standard possible.

This role will involve fault finding, diagnostics, repairs, and refurbishments of electrical, electronic, and mechanical assemblies. You will hold top level soldering skills but also have the capability and experience of basic wiring and crimping.

Role requirements
  • Primary role will be building flight hardware to IPC and ESA standard.
  • This will include PCA, Module build, and harness work.
  • Diagnose, fault-find, and repair electronic/electrical assemblies
  • Carry out soldering (SMT & through-hole) and PCB rework to a high standard.
  • Experience with electronic diagnostics and test equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow procedures.
  • Hands-on skills in crimping, torque tightening, and mechanical assembly.
  • Utilise electronic test equipment including multimeters, light sensors, and diagnostic software.
  • Support the development of repair and test procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
  • A good knowledge in soldering and wiring practices.
  • Strong soldering and PCB rework skills (IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 desirable).
  • Prior experience in electronic repair/maintenance (rail industry advantageous).
  • Proven practical, hands-on ability.
  • Good general computing skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Clear communication skills.
