About the role:

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a strong company culture focused on employee well-being. We seek candidates with experience in the utility-scale solar sector or large rooftop solar projects.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician offers an excellent salary, commensurate with experience, with potential overtime, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities and duties
  • Ensure optimal performance of large-scale solar assets
  • Perform operations and maintenance across solar sites in Chichester and surrounding areas, with occasional travel for business needs
  • Adhere to all HSE requirements during duties
  • Test DC and AC systems, identify faults, and trace issues
  • Conduct firmware updates and utilize computer systems for asset diagnostics
  • Obtain Authorised Person status after training
  • Regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of systems
  • Analyze data to identify trends and suggest operational improvements
  • Assist with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, ground maintenance, and site CCTV as needed
  • Be flexible to work outside your area and support the business as required
Professional qualifications
  • Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent
  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • C&G 2391 or equivalent (preferred)
  • HSE qualification (desired)
  • Experience in solar or BESS environments (highly preferred)
  • UK driving license
Personal skills
  • Flexible regarding location and travel
  • Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read, write, and assess RAMS (beneficial)
  • Motivated to learn and make a difference

  • Starting salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
