Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a strong company culture that values its employees. We're seeking someone with experience in the utility-scale solar sector, but we are also open to candidates with extensive rooftop solar experience.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician role offers an excellent salary, commensurate with experience, with potential for overtime. The company emphasizes work-life balance. Responsibilities and duties
  • Report to the Area Manager
  • Ensure optimal performance of large-scale solar assets
  • Perform operations and maintenance across solar sites
  • Adhere to all HSE requirements
  • Test DC and AC systems for faults and troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems for asset diagnostics
  • Obtain Authorised Person status after training
  • Regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of systems
  • Analyze data to identify trends and recommend operational improvements
  • Assist with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, ground maintenance, and site CCTV as needed
  • Travel within your designated area and assist as required by the business
Professional qualifications
  • Level 3 in electrical installations (minimum)
  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • C&G 2391 or equivalent (preferred)
  • HSE qualification (desired)
Experience
  • Experience in solar or BESS environments is highly desirable
  • UK driving licence is essential
Personal skills
  • Flexible with location and willing to travel
  • Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read, write, and assess RAMS (beneficial)
  • Motivated to learn and make a positive impact
Salary and benefits
  • Starting salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
