Wolviston Management Services is recruiting a Solar Technician to install, maintain, and optimise solar PV systems across commercial projects. You will ensure safe operation, perform inspections, testing, and fault finding, and document maintenance records.

The role suits an experienced electrician or a Solar Technician seeking progression in renewables, with site-based work and UK-wide travel.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience.
• Experience within commercial or industrial electrical environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Install solar PV systems, including panels, mounting systems, inverters, and associated electrical components.
• Carry out inspection, testing, and commissioning of solar installations.
• Perform routine maintenance and fault finding on existing PV systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and performance-related issues across DC and AC systems.
• Ensure all work complies with electrical regulations and health and safety standards.
• Complete site reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and site teams.
• Travel to various sites as required.

Overview

We are supporting our client in the recruitment of a Solar Technician to join their growing renewable energy team. This role will focus on the installation, maintenance, and optimisation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems across commercial and industrial projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of solar assets, contributing to energy generation performance and long-term system reliability. This position is well suited to a qualified electrician looking to develop within the renewable energy sector or an experienced Solar Technician seeking to further their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Install solar PV systems, including panels, mounting systems, inverters, and associated electrical components
• Carry out inspection, testing, and commissioning of solar installations
