Role Description

The Solar Surveyor & Solar Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sussex area. This position is responsible for visiting customer properties to carry out detailed surveys, including roof measurements, shading analysis, and assessment of structural suitability for solar installations. The role involves preparing accurate system designs, layout drawings, and technical specifications based on survey data and customer requirements. The Solar Surveyor & Solar Designer will collaborate with sales, installation, and project management teams to ensure designs are feasible, compliant with relevant standards, and aligned with budget and performance targets. Day-to-day tasks also include preparing documentation for quotations, maintaining clear records of surveys and designs, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform accurate site surveys, including measurements, structural assessments, and basic electrical evaluations.
• Skills in solar system design, including layout planning, component selection, and performance estimation.
• Competence with design and planning tools (e.g., CAD software, solar design software, or similar technical applications).
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to produce clear, accurate reports and drawings.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with customers, installers, and internal teams.
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices when working on-site and at height.
• Relevant technical qualification or experience in renewable energy, electrical engineering, construction, or a related field.
• Valid driving license and readiness to travel locally for on-site surveys in and around Worthing.
