Job summary

Atlantic Renewables is a Manchester-based specialist of solar energy projects, offering design, installation and commissioning services across the UK. The Roofer role focuses on installing solar mounting equipment, ensuring structural safety and weatherproofing for residential and commercial projects.

Daily tasks include preparing roof surfaces, fitting rails and brackets, and assisting with panel placement, all while coordinating with electricians and designers to meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Proven roofing experience with installation, repair, maintenance across roof types.
• Experience installing solar mounting systems or willingness to learn solar installation techniques.
• Valid certifications/cards for construction work (e.g., CSCS) and ability to work safely at height.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings/installation plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork with roofers, electricians, and project managers.
• Full UK driving licence and travel to different sites across Manchester/Cheshire.
• Experience in renewable energy or solar installations is beneficial but not essential; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roof surfaces for mounting.
• Fit mounting rails and brackets.
• Assist with panel placement.
• Work closely with electricians and designers to complete installations to spec.
• Work at height and follow health and safety procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas on active construction sites.
• Identify and report roof defects and support routine maintenance.
