Valoris Group is seeking a Solar PV Technical Surveyor to conduct field-based site surveys for domestic solar PV and battery storage installations in Rochester and surrounding areas. You will gather the technical data needed to ensure installations are designed and implemented correctly.

The role requires practical solar PV, electrical installations or surveying experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to document findings clearly.

Responsabilités

• Visit domestic properties to assess suitability for solar PV and battery storage installations.
• Assess roof space, measurements, shading and potential panel layouts.
• Identify inverter, battery and cable route locations.
• Inspect electrical panels, meter positions and arrangements.
• Identify installation challenges before work begins.
• Take site photographs, measurements and detailed technical notes.
• Produce accurate survey reports for design and installation teams.
• Liaise with engineers, designers and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

The Role

You’ll visit domestic properties to assess their suitability for solar PV and battery storage installations, gathering the technical information needed to ensure projects are designed and installed correctly.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Conducting technical site surveys for domestic solar PV and battery storage systems.
• Assessing roof space, measurements, shading and potential panel layouts.
• Identifying suitable inverter, battery and cable route locations.
• Inspecting existing consumer units, meter positions and electrical arrangements.
• Identifying potential installation challenges before work begins.
• Taking site photographs, measurements and detailed technical notes.
• Producing accurate survey reports for design and installation teams.
• Liaising with engineers, designers and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

What We're Looking For

• A practical, technically minded individual with excellent attention to detail.
• An understanding of electrical installations, solar PV or building layouts.
• Confidence taking measurements and identifying installation challenges.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Comfortable using tablets, smartphones and digital reporting systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Highly Desirable:

• Previous solar PV surveying or installation experience.
• Electrical installation or inspection background.
• Knowledge of inverters, battery storage and domestic electrical systems.
• Experience using solar surveying software or technical reporting tools.

Currently working as an Electrician or Solar PV Installer?
