Owing to continued growth and high demand for our services in the UK and Ireland, we are looking for a Solar PV Project Manager to join our global energy team in the UK.
You will lead the delivery of Solar PV owner’s engineering projects for clients in the UK, Ireland, and worldwide, ensuring they are appropriately resourced, delivered on time and within budget, and supporting our clients to increase project value while reducing risks. This includes coordination of internal and external resources, deliverable reviews, origination, acceptance, budget and schedule adherence, client liaison, and internal reporting. The role may also involve preparing bids for new work and participating in other advisory projects as needed.
This is a permanent role offering excellent prospects for career development involving various power technologies (wind PV, CSP, BESS…) mainly renewable energy projects.
Job description:
Role responsibilities
1. Project Management:
Guide and manage PV projects from inception to completion, ensuring all milestones are met.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with internal teams, clients, stakeholders, and external contractors to meet project objectives.
2. Owner’s Engineering:
Provide technical oversight and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure designs, specifications, and drawings are reviewed and approved.
Manage site assessments and feasibility studies.
Ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
Provide local expertise and guidance.
3. Technical Support:
Assist in preparing technical specifications and tender documents.
Evaluate bids and proposals.
Support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases.
Manage performance assessments and troubleshooting.
4. Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, authorities, and communities.
Represent the company in technical discussions.
Ensure transparent communication.
5. Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control processes.
Conduct site inspections and audits.
Manage commissioning and acceptance testing.
Candidate specifications:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial).
Project management experience.
Knowledge of Solar PV development in the UK or Ireland.
Familiarity with PV design codes, standards, and software like PVsyst.
Proactive, problem-solving, and team-oriented attitude.
Proficiency in English.
Desirable:
Experience in managing multidisciplinary projects.
IT skills, especially MS Office and Project.
Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly.
Attention to detail in technical reports.
Ability to lead meetings and presentations.
