Job Title: Photovoltaic (PV) Engineer

Pay: From £200 per day (rate dependent on experience)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Location: London

Work Location: On the road

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for an experienced Photovoltaic (PV) Engineer to support the management

and maintenance of a large portfolio of solar energy systems. This role is offered on a subcontractor basis

and is initially part-time, with potential for extended opportunities based on performance and business

needs.

The successful candidate will conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and maintenance across a range of

PV systems, including residential, commercial, and battery storage installations. Regular travel to client

sites is required, along with a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and effective communication.

In addition to maintenance work, there may be occasional involvement in solar installations.

Collaboration with the maintenance and project management teams will be key, as well as direct

interaction with clients and end users.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain solar PV systems across residential and commercial sites

• Diagnose and resolve performance issues or faults in existing installations

• Maintain accurate records and reports related to site visits and system performance

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and site-specific requirements

• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues

• Support installation teams when required

Requirements

• Proven experience working with Solar PV systems

• 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (preferred)

• Gold ECS Card (preferred)

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and travel daily to various locations

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safe working practices
