Job Title: Solar PV Electrical Engineer

Position: Solar PV Electrical Engineer (Temporary - 6 Months)

Location: North East (Office-Based - Travel is Essential)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri) + Overtime

Start Date: ASAP (Flexible)

Rate: £320 p/d + Overtime (Inside IR35)

Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Solar PV Electrical Engineer to provide comprehensive maintenance services for our client's solar PV portfolio. The role involves ensuring system performance, safety, and compliance while working on both roof and ground-mounted installations nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct visual and periodic inspections across domestic and commercial solar PV systems.
  2. Diagnose and resolve operational faults efficiently to maximise system performance.
  3. Safely remove, replace, and maintain solar PV panels and associated electrical components.
  4. Liaise with end-users, third-party contractors (e.g., scaffolders, safety inspectors), and internal teams.
  5. Perform PAT testing and statutory inspections as required.
  6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, including risk assessments and method statements.
  7. Report issues to the O&M Site Operations Manager/Fleet Coordinator.
