About

Solar PV Assessor Support Electricians Moving into Renewables

Location: Whiteley (PO15) & Nursling (SO16) - In-person Delivery Only

Salary: £200/day (Freelance)

Contract Options: Part-time, or freelance

Are you an experienced electrician with knowledge of Solar PV systems, EESS (battery storage), or EV charging? Ready to step away from the tools and help train the next generation of low-carbon electricians?

At SERT, we're looking for a Solar PV Assessor to join our specialist renewables training team in Whiteley. You'll assess and support experienced electrical engineers as they transition into green technologies, delivering training to the highest industry standards under LCL Awards and EAL.

What You'll Do
  • Deliver and assess hands-on Solar PV, battery storage (EESS), and EVCP installation training
  • Work face-to-face with qualified electricians expanding into the renewables sector
  • Support candidates through LCL Awards and EAL-accredited qualifications
  • Help develop and deliver short-course content aligned with the UK's Net Zero targets

No Assessing Experience? No Problem. SERT will fully support your transition with funded teaching qualifications (Level 3 Award in Education & Training) and assessor awards (TAQA/A1). You'll also receive any CPD or endorsement training needed for LCL and EAL delivery.

What You'll Bring
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with Solar PV, EESS, or EV charging installations
  • Up-to-date qualifications such as 18th Edition and Inspection & Testing (2391 or equivalent)
  • A clear, confident communication style and a passion for raising standards
