Job Description

Field Technician – Renewable Energy

We are looking for a Solar Field Technician to join a specialist asset management and engineering company in the renewables space.

They manage over 100 renewable energy projects across the UK, totaling more than 8000 MWp.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine maintenance, testing, and repairs on solar PV systems.
  2. Adhere to company safety procedures and industry regulations.
  3. Install new Solar PV and Wind systems as per project pipeline.
  4. Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance as scheduled.
  5. Document daily activities via CMMS or manual reports.
  6. Assess risks, report near misses, and ensure operational safety.
  7. Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors to meet H&S regulations.
  8. Maintain detailed electrical testing records for audits.
  9. Identify and troubleshoot system performance issues.
  10. Report significant issues to management promptly.
  11. Ensure data security and compliance with GDPR and UK data laws.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
