Job summary

Orbiter Group Ltd in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Solar Electrical Manager to lead electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance of solar PV systems across commercial, industrial and residential projects.

You will manage electrical teams and subcontractors, ensure compliance with BS 7671 and health and safety standards, and drive on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining the highest quality. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven experience in electrical supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV installations and BS 7671.
• Full UK driving licence (travel between sites).

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical aspects of solar PV installation projects from planning to commissioning and handover.
• Lead and support electrical engineers, electricians, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and health and safety.
• Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and resources to meet deadlines and budget.
• Review drawings, designs, specs and installation methods.
• Oversee installation and integration of solar PV systems, inverters, storage, and infra.
• Manage testing, inspection, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, suppliers, and DNOs.
• Monitor progress, quality, productivity; resolve technical issues.
• Implement risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Support development and training of electrical teams; promote safety culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
