An exciting opportunity for a motivated Solar Commercial Manager / Renewable Energy Business Development Manager to drive new business within the commercial and industrial renewable energy sector, supporting organisations in their transition to sustainable, low‑carbon energy solutions.

SALARY: £50,000 to £70,000 per annum + Defined Profit Share Structure + Car Allowance and Business Mileage + Benefits

LOCATION: Flexible. You can be based anywhere within the UK as you will be working remotely from home with regular travel in and around your local territory.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Solar Commercial Manager / Renewable Energy Business Development Manager with proven experience in B2B renewable energy sales, ideally within commercial and industrial Solar PV.

As a Solar Commercial Manager / Renewable Energy Business Development Manager you will build and manage client relationships, identifying and securing new business opportunities for solar and complementary technologies such as battery storage and energy optimisation systems.

The Solar Commercial Manager / Renewable Energy Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in helping organisations achieve their Net Zero targets by delivering tailored, commercially sound solar PV solutions, supported by in‑house technical, design and delivery teams.

DUTIES
  • Generate New Business: Research and identify potential commercial and industrial solar PV opportunities across your region
  • Client Engagement: Contact and engage prospective clients through phone, email, social media and face‑to‑face meetings
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with clients, suppliers and strategic partners
  • Proposal Development: Prepare financial projections and sales proposals for key decision‑makers
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage a structured sales pipeline using the company’s CRM system
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates on forecasts, turnover and performance against KPIs
  • Market Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions and industry conferences
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, technical and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proven experience of developing commercial and industrial solar PV projects within the UK market
  • Experience with roof‑mounted, ground‑mounted and canopy solar PV systems; battery storage experience advantageous
  • Clear and confident communicator with the ability to influence at all organisational levels
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to prepare professional proposals and financial models
  • Experienced in using CRM systems for sales tracking and client management
  • Self‑motivated, target‑oriented and capable of working autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel within your regional territory
