An innovative firm is seeking a Project Development Manager to spearhead renewable energy projects in the London Area. Location: London Area, United Kingdom (Hybrid)
Develop the new pipeline of battery storage and renewable energy projects in collaboration with the Director of UK and Irish Project Development and the team.
Build and maintain relationships with development partners, suppliers, advisors, landowners, and other stakeholders. Oversee supplier delivery, budgets, and payments.
Evaluate potential projects for development and acquisition using financial models, prepare investment papers, and present opportunities to the Investment Committee.
Manage legal, technical, and commercial due diligence activities related to project acquisitions.
Track and report on project development progress and budgets, identifying priorities to advance projects to the Ready to Build (RTB) stage.
Support detailed development activities such as land options, cable easements, planning submissions, permitting, and grid connection arrangements, with assistance from advisors and partners.
Travel as needed to meet project and development partners, landowners, and visit project sites.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
Prepare RTB assets for transfer to funds or investors, managing the legal and practical handover process.
Assist the Procurement and Project Delivery Team in bringing projects to the Final Investment Decision (FID) stage.
Ideal candidates will have a background in technical/engineering, planning, project development, project management, or consultancy, with 4-5 years of experience in the power or renewable energy sector.
Proven skills in managing project development, asset acquisition, and/or sales.
Ability to manage local stakeholders and advisors through development processes. A degree (Master or Diploma) in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or related fields is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; CAD skills are a plus.
Strong team working abilities, with the capacity to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
