A leading company is seeking a Project Manager for Behind-the-Meter projects in the UK, focusing on battery storage and renewable energy. To support the business expansion as Project Manager for Behind-the-Meter (BtM) projects in development and under construction across the UK.
Develop the new pipeline of battery storage and renewable energy projects together with the Director of UK and Irish Project Development and other team members.
Develop and manage relationships with existing and new development partners, suppliers, advisors, landowners, and other counterparties. Monitor supplier delivery, budget, and payments.
Assess potential projects for development and acquisition, using financial models, preparing investment papers, and presenting opportunities to the Investment Committee.
Manage legal, technical, and commercial due diligence activities for project acquisitions.
Monitor and report on project development progress and budget, helping to identify areas to prioritize for development partners, advisors, and team members, bringing projects to the Ready to Build (RTB) stage.
With support from advisors and partners, manage detailed aspects of the development process, such as land options, cable easements, planning submissions, permitting, and grid connection arrangements.
Travel as needed to meet and build relationships with project and development partners, landowners, and project sites.
Help collate project documents, keeping them accurate and up to date.
Prepare RTB assets for transfer to funds managed by the fund or other investors, and manage the legal and practical handover process.
Support the Procurement and Project Delivery Team to bring projects to the Final Investment Decision (FID) stage.
Candidates should ideally come from a technical/engineering, planning, project development, project management, or consultancy background, with 4-5 years of experience in the power or renewable energy sector.
Demonstrable skills in managing project development and asset acquisition and/or sales.
Proven ability to manage local site stakeholders and advisors through development. Degree (Master or Diploma) in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or comparable studies, planning consultancy.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. CAD skills are desirable.
Ability to work effectively as a team member, meet deadlines, and perform under time pressure.
