Job Description:
Summary:
The Interface Control Manager is a key technical role ensuring seamless coordination between design, engineering, procurement, construction, and external stakeholders. You will oversee and manage all discipline and contract interfaces across utility-scale solar and BESS projects, ensuring alignment, traceability, and conflict resolution throughout the project lifecycle. This role is critical for maintaining design integrity, timeline efficiency, and EPC coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain an Interface Management Plan across internal teams and third-party stakeholders.
• Define, track, and manage interfaces between engineering disciplines (electrical, civil, structural, SCADA), contractors, and suppliers.
• Coordinate interface deliverables across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Ensure early identification and resolution of technical or schedule conflicts between work packages.
• Maintain interface registers and matrices; ensure consistency and traceability of requirements.
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings between design, engineering, and construction teams.
• Act as technical liaison with subcontractors and DNOs to align grid connection and commissioning interfaces.
• Support integration of third-party packages (e.g., inverters, transformers, BESS units, SCADA) into the overall system design.
• Report interface status to project leadership and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
• Ensure that all interface-related risks are identified and mitigation plans are documented and implemented.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related); advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in engineering/project management roles within utility-scale solar and/or BESS EPC projects.
• Demonstrated experience in technical interface management or systems integration.
• Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and multidisciplinary project scopes.
• Familiarity with UK grid codes, CDM regulations, and renewable energy construction practices.
• Highly organized, with strong communication and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and interface control tools such as BIM 360, Navisworks, or Primavera (preferred).
• Full right to work in the UK and ability to travel to project sites as required.
