Job description

MCS Group is working with a leading player in the financial services sector who are looking for a Senior Software Test Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned manual tester with strong system testing experience to work on high-impact projects in a well-established, tech-forward environment. As Senior Software Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of a new system, writing and executing the tests to ensure functionality.

This role offers the chance to work within a supportive and technically mature team, with real prospects for contract extension.

The Role

• Lead and coordinate end-to-end test planning and execution
• Design and create detailed test cases and documentation
• Conduct rigorous system and integration testing across complex platforms
• Collaborate closely with developers and project stakeholders
• Contribute to test automation (preferred), with flexibility around tools and frameworks

The Person

• Proven experience in manual testing at a senior level
• Strong system test background and test process coordination
• Ability to write and manage comprehensive test plans and cases
• You must be comfortable working a sole tester, as there is currently only a very small testing presence within the business.
• Exposure to test automation (any framework), ideally within .Net, Azure, JavaScript, or Angular environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Location: Belfast / Northern Ireland (Hybrid)
Rate: £350 - £400 per day (DOE)
IR35: Outside
