As a Software Technology Manager, you will work with Arm's key customers to define and prioritise requirements for software enablement and optimization, and develop strategies to deliver them within Arm and our software ecosystem.

Our Central Engineering Software group plays a bridging role across Arm's technologies. You will be part of our team of technology managers addressing the growing demand for software on Arm technology.

Job Overview:

We are responsible for the roadmap and vision for our software development, configuration, optimization, productisation, and delivery activities. We develop strategies around new and existing software components to support Arm's products.

We gather use-cases and requirements to fulfill the needs of complex systems. Our scope includes engaging with open-source communities, communicating opportunities of open-source software, and creating product plans to ensure successful deployment of Arm's software solutions across multiple market segments. Our expertise in software communities, development practices, and release methodologies helps us align our hardware product lifecycle with delivering comprehensive solutions.

We collaborate closely with Project Managers, Architects, Engineering Leads, and Product Managers both internally and externally. Together, we aim to deliver the best software for Arm's technology and communicate its value globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the entire value chain of end customers, manufacturers, and designers of hardware, software, and systems, including productisation, support, and quality assurance.
  • Gather market segment needs and translate them into product plans.
  • Work with engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements based on customer needs.
  • Perform competitive analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses of Arm-based solutions versus competitors.
  • Promote open-source community engagement and enthuse customers and sales teams about our software offerings through meetings and training.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in creating and managing software requirements within a product delivery context, including validation and quality assurance.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, customers, and suppliers and to implement strategic plans.
  • Software development experience, such as with firmware, operating systems, or applications.
  • Motivated to work independently and as part of a distributed global team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% internationally.

‘Nice to Have’ Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in a numerate subject or relevant experience.
  • Experience with full open-source software development lifecycle and software stack components.
  • Experience with software product development and delivery lifecycle.
  • Background in technical product management, sales, or marketing.
  • Experience with hardware design verification via proof-of-concept software.
  • Knowledge of defining requirements for quality and optimization, including non-functional areas like performance and safety.
