Our client is looking to expand their team and need to hire a Software Systems Engineer with a passion and ability to question standard software systems engineering. They are a progressive Defence client, always interested in disrupting the norm, if you are s Software Systems Engineer, who likes to ask questions, pose new solutions and creative in your design, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Role Purpose
To define, manage, and derive system requirements that support the development of defence systems, ensuring compliance with customer needs, regulatory standards, and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal and external defence stakeholders to define system architectures and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
  • Author and manage system requirements and design documentation in accordance with MOD and company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to derive technical requirements and ensure system integrity.
  • Develop functional specifications to support design, integration, and verification activities.
  • Analyse electrical and software interface definitions (ICDs) to support system integration.
  • Prepare systems engineering plans in line with defence standards and company policy.
  • Plan and execute system integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities.
  • Conduct hands-on system integration in lab and field environments.
  • Assess and define hardware/software interface requirements in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Recommend and support system upgrades or modifications to meet evolving operational needs.
