Your Role:
Autonomous vehicles depend on sensor data, and our Sensor & Compute team is at the core of Oxa’s software and platform development. This team enables vehicles to understand their surroundings and assess their own performance and safety margins through real-time data analysis.
The Sensor & Compute team develops high-performance sensor drivers, collaborating closely with other development teams to meet their needs. We focus on sensor quality, health, and optimality, ensuring well-defined interfaces and comprehensive support.
The team handles diverse sensor types and faces calibration, data quality, and inference challenges, making it a dynamic and exciting environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Integrate complex vehicle systems to enable software development and testing on autonomous vehicles.
- Develop basic software for hardware integration and automation improvements.
- Establish and manage test bench infrastructure for performance evaluation, covering hardware and software.
- Work hands-on with autonomous vehicles, demonstrating passion for robotics and autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze test results, identify performance issues, and implement solutions.
- Apply understanding of self-driving car sensing technologies (LiDAR, Cameras, RADAR).
- Investigate integration of new hardware with the autonomous software stack to ensure proper functionality.
- Utilize data exploration skills to maintain consistent delivery standards across platforms.
- Write and execute test cases for the systems.
- Understand safety and legislative requirements related to your work.
- Debug electrical and hardware issues on test vehicles.
- Contribute to internal documentation on design, testing, and platform sign-off processes.
- Assist in creating user documentation for vehicle commissioning.
- Produce Field Bugs reports and participate in agile planning (Jira).
- Contribute to Autonomous Vehicle Daily Checklists.
Requirements
What you need to succeed:
- A degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in Automotive, Robotics, or similar industry, especially in System Engineering.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of automotive and robotics communication systems.
- Understanding of autonomous systems' key elements.
- Deep understanding of complex systems and component interactions via hardware interfaces.
- Strong communication skills on technical matters and ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Extra kudos if you have:
- Experience with UNIX/Linux.
- Experience working with prototype autonomous platforms during commissioning.
